ELLEN BURSTYN RETURNS TO HORROR IN THE WICKER MAN

(VIDEO) Exorcist star Ellen Burstyn makes horror comeback in The Wicker Man.

The Exorcist star Ellen Burstyn returns to the horror genre in The Wicker Man as the head of the pagan sisters living in a matriarchal society created by director Neil LaBute. Ellen describes what it was like filming on the remote island which is actually located in Canada.

Ellen warns viewers that the film’s subject matter is not suitable for everyone.

“Bowen Island is kind of a very evocative, kind of wonderful isolated place and in certain ways to similar to the island they used in Scotland. The natural beauty I think is very much a part of the film and Bowen Island is just breathtaking. When we took the ferry over or our water taxis every morning and every evening I was just amazed at the incredible beauty of the shore there near Vancouver.”

The Wicker Man opens tomorrow in theaters nationwide.

“It’ll be very disturbing. I think the film is like a nightmare and I think it will make a deep impression on people yeah.”
