ELISABETH WITHERS FOCUSING ON SIMPLE THINGS

Singer and actress Elisabeth Withers will release her debut album, It Can Happen To Anyone, next Tuesday, January 30th, on Blue Note Records. The singer, who was nominated for a Tony Award for her role as Shug Avery in Oprah Winfrey’s Broadway production of The Color Purple, is enjoying the transition from actress to singer.

It Can Happen To Anyone was produced and co-written by Gordon Chambers and Barry Eastmond. Withers recently released a second single, “Simple Things,” from the project. The first single was “Be With You.”

“Yes and so once I found out that I was part of this family and that’s what it is a family. I felt comfortable. I felt comfortable writing the music. I felt comfortable with the whole process, the whole recording process.”

Withers recently explained how she feels really comfortable being signed to Blue Note Records. The singer said,
