DREW BARRYMORE IS LUCKY IN LOVE

Drew Barrymore falls for a poker player in Lucky You.

Drew Barrymore stars in Lucky You as a small town girl looking for love in all the wrong places who flees to Las Vegas and falls for a poker stud played by Eric Bana with plenty of emotional baggage.

Drew says her character is drawn to his potential.

“I happen to as a human being myself not believe that because I’ve actually seen people change. And I think Billy fundamentally believes that about people and I think she gets lucky with Huck because he does change. And the road to get there isn’t always smoothly paved. But I think because of the world, the small town world that she’s come from, I think she has a lack of judgment towards him.”

These two unlikely romantic characters find each other by discovering each other’s worlds.

“I think he shows her a side of himself that no one else really gets to see. And I think she recognizes that and that’s special so when Huck who’s closed off and has to wear this sort of mask all the time to fool everybody has become so real to him but with her he smiles, he laughs and finds her amusing and that’s a very seductive thing when you know you’re bringing out the sides that have been put away for a long time out in somebody.”

Lucky You is written and directed by Curtis Hanson and also stars Robert Duvall and Debra Messing.
