DREAM THEATER, DREAM PROGRESSIVE TOUR
Dream Theater is on the final leg of the Progressive Nation tour, and drummer Mike Portnoy feels pride in the line-up he’s assembled for it. |
Dream Theater is currently out on the road as part of the Progressive Nation tour with Opeth, Between The Burried And Me, and 3. On Thursday, May 22, the band plays the second of two shows at Terminal 5 in New York City in support of their latest studio album Systematic Chaos and their Greatest Hit album. |
Dream Theater’s drummer Mike Portnoy talked about the tour. |
“It’s been a fun tour. Doing a package like this is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time now. I think all four bands are very compatible, but also different enough to make it interesting from band to band throughout the show, so… It’s been awesome.” |
Portnoy talked about his hand-picked tour mates. |
“Yeah. No, I handpicked them. I had been wanting Dream Theater to tour with Opeth for a long time now. Me and Michael Ackerfeld have been friends for years and he and I had been talking about doing a tour together for a long time. So, they were the first band to fall into place. The other two slots I had a list of twenty bands or whatever on my wish list and these two bands so it came together pretty quickly.” |
Dream Theater is wrapping up over a year of touring, and they’re looking to resting at home and then getting to work on their next album. |
