Producer Dre of the Cool & Dre production team is making the move to the artist side of the game. The Miami native will release his debut album, The Trunk, on his own Epidemic Record label which is distributed by Jive Records. |
Dre explained how rappers from Miami used their unity to get into the door at a time when the music industry wasn’t checking for the south. He said, |
“You know it’s been hard for us to get in the door for so long. So we had to like help each other out. So it’s good. Everyone should take note of that and move like that.” |
The Trunk will feature guest appearances by Rick Ross, Keyshia Cole, and Anthony Hamilton, with production by Scott Storch, Timbaland, and DJ Khaled. The first single from The Trunk is “Chevy Ridin’ High” featuring Rick Ross. The next single from the project is “Be Somebody” featuring Keyshia Cole. |
