With her debut album ‘Alright, Still’ a smash success, and Lily Allen turning heads on stage from Glastonbury to Bonnaroo, it won’t be soon before long before this British new comer becomes a house hold name in America. Allen, who was born into a family in the entertainment business first garnered attention with her Myspace page, where she quickly became an internet musical sensation, riding that wave of interest to an album that debuted on the US Billboard Chart at #20. |
We caught up with Lily Allen to find out her thoughts on being categorized as a Pop Artist and how it’s all about having fun on stage no matter the style of music. |
“You know what, I just like to have fun on stage. I don’t even think of my music and I definitely didn’t go into this album, right I’m going to make a Pop album so I still don’t really think of it as Pop music. Whatever Pop music is. In fact, you know what it’s all music and we should just enjoy all of it. Jamming or whatever.” |
Lily Allen just released her new single and video for her song ‘LDN’ which is the follow up to Lily’s smash debut single ‘Smile.’ Allen will be performing at many of Europe’s biggest festivals this summer as well as an appearance at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival. Nike and Lily Allen have also teamed up for her very own Nike Air Max 90 shoe deal. It is rumored Lily is currently working on new material for her highly anticipated sophomore album, although Allen has admitted she doesn’t want to rush into the recording process because of pressure from the label. Lily Allen will be performing in the U.S. with dates beginning September 6th in San Diego, Ca. and lasting until September 15th in Seattle, Washington. |
