DON CHEADLE AND JADA PINKETT SMITH PLAY MARRIAGE GAME
Don Cheadle and Jada Pinkett Smith star in Reign Over Me as a husband and wife whose predictable married life with kids becomes disrupted when Cheadle’s old college roommate Adam Sandler brings his own baggage into their already troubled home. |
Cheadle talks about his film family becoming habitual. |
“The family is into a routine you know, drop you off, pick you up and do homework at this time and we go here and you go to practice. Need money for this, need money for that and that’s kind of some of the funny stuff you see in the movie with this just sort of rut that they’re in. But I still think underlying all of that is a real closeness.” |
Don’s wife Janeane played by Jada blames the rift in their relationship on Sandler’s character, his college buddy, who has been occupying his time with their reunion outings. |
“She feels as though Charlie, Adam’s character is taking him away, you know and really he’s deciding to go away and that’s what she has to come to grips with. I think Janeane is very patient, you know what I mean and she knows her husband and she loves him you know. Sometimes she’s patient to a fault but I think she always believes that they will get to a resolution of some kind.” |
Reign Over Me opens Friday in theaters. |
