DMX made history with the release of his first five albums on Def Jam Records. The rapper has the distinction of being the only artist in history to have all five of his releases debut at Number One on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Def Jam Records has packaged twenty songs from the five albums into a greatest hits set titled, The Definition of X: Pick of The Litter, which will hit stores on June 12th. |
The set will include “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem,” “Get At Me Dog,” “Stop Being Greedy,” “How’s It Going Down,” “What These B**ches Want,” “Blackout,” “What’s My Name?,” “Who We Be,” “X Gon’ Give It To Ya,” “Where the Hood At,” and several other songs. |
“It left a bad taste in my mouth for the industry period. You know because I see that a lot s**t, it wasn’t about talent you know. It was about who’s buying what, who’s paying what to get what record played. You know that’s not my style yo, you know artist in my heart man. DMX left Def Jam Records for Sony Music last year and released his first album, Year of the Dog…Again, which did not enter the Billboard 200 albums chart at Number One. Prior to the release of the album, DMX shared that he wasn’t pleased with the state of the music industry. He said, |
