DMC BLAMES SOCIETY FOR PROBLEMS IN RAP
Rap pioneer DMC is currently working on his sophomore solo album while continuing his work with adopted children. The rapper found out a few years ago that he was actually adopted and has since dedicated his free time to helping others in the same situation. |
DMC, who has seen the evolution of rap from day one, shared his thoughts on the violence associated with the art form. He said, |
“We lost Pac. We lost Biggie. We lost Freakey Tah. We lost Big L. We lost Scott La Rock. People forgot, DJ Scott LaRock was the first guy. He went to break up a fight and the guy seen him the little kid. There were two young kids fighting. The other young guy went and got Scott LaRock. The young kid seen Scott LaRock coming. He thought Scott LaRock was gonna beat his ass, killed him. So we’re dealing with a problem that has nothing to do with hip hop. It has something to do with this society and existence we live in.” |
