DJ QUIK LAUNCHES HOUSE OF BLUES TOUR

Compton-based rapper and producer DJ Quik will launch a House Of Blues tour next month with Strong Arm Steady’s Mitchy Slick. The tour is slated to kick off in Park City, Utah, on June 3rd, and to wrap on June 18th in Tempe, Arizona. The tour is the second outing for DJ Quik in as many years. Last year he served as a guest deejay for the Game.

Quik made a guest appearance on HBO’s Entourage last season, and earlier this year he released Trauma: Instrumentals on his own Mad Science label. The veteran explained why he decided to go indie. He said,

“Which brings me to doing it myself. I mean with all the things I went through I pretty much learned the ropes. I mean had I not been watching and learning I’d probably still be an artist right now hoping somebody you know sign me or pick up you know an option on my contract. I couldn’t wait for it to be over so I could do it myeslf. It’s not that hard of a game.”
