DISTURBIA STILL DISTURBING COMPETITION
Disturbia made $13.5 million in its second weekend to score their second week at number one, while Anthony Hopkins’ new thriller Fracture debuted at number two with $11.2 million. |
Carrie-Anne Moss who stars as the mother of teenager Shia LaBeouf under house arrest for assaulting his teacher says she understands why the film has hit home with audiences. |
“I mean especially in this day and age when people are so addicted to their televisions and they’re so addicted to their video games, addicted to this detached way of living to actually look outside of yourself and to look at what’s happening in life. The movie does take a turn at the scary side but I’m all for looking out your window and seeing what’s happening, trying to be less isolated.” |
Carrie-Anne filmed Disturbia very close to the birth of her second son so it wasn’t difficult to have maternal feelings for Shia. |
“And I have children now so I have this whole wealth of emotional life inside of me that I look at him and I imagine him as my son. For the first few days I just cried every time I thought of the situation that his character is in.” |
Disturbia is directed by D.J. Caruso whose previous films include Two For The Money, Taking Lives and The Salton Sea. |
