DISTURBED CHALLENGED BY TEN THOUSAND FISTS

Disturbed’s latest release, Ten Thousand Fists, not only signaled the continued support fans have for the band and heavy rock, it also marks the band’s evolution and comfort with writing anthemic songs built for the big stage. |
The title track, “Ten Thousand Fists,” is a perfect example of how disturbed has perfected their craft of new arena metal. Vocalist David Draiman was asked if the challenging tune was roadtested before the band recorded and mixed it. |
“Not road-tested, but we have played it. When we were in the writing process we played it, but it’s chal-len-ging. It was probably the most challenging song, vocally, we’ve ever written. And certainly for Mikey as well it’s a hell of a song to pull off. A lot of heavily syncopated drum patterns going on in there and a lot of double kick and a lot of this really complex tom and kick oriented stuff. It’s… It’s a rough one.” |
Disturbed is choosing to play multiple dates in each city at smaller venues as opposed to playing a bigger venue. The band keeps the same philosophy on the Jagermeister tour, which kicks off December 5 in Portland, Maine. |
