DISTURBED BY POLITICAL FORCES BAND RAISES FISTS
Disturbed has released their latest album Ten Thousand Fists, and the meaning should be taken as a simple phrase while those who dig deeper could apply it to the sociopolitical bent to the album. |
Disturbed’s David Draiman said that the album title is a nod to their fans and the power the band feels when on-stage in arenas. It can also be used to describe the band’s anger, which has morphed over the years. Draiman talks about how he’s seen the world get worse on many social and political levels. |
“In fact, it’s gotten worse on many levels. What can you do but feel frustrated? What can you do but feel angered by it? It’s stuff like that that gives musicians the fuel to write records with. People always wonder, ‘Oh you’ve succeed, what do you have to be pissed off about anymore?’ I always think, ‘Are you kidding me?! Look around you. How could you not be? How could there not be enough sources of frustration, angst and anger around you as you open your eyes and look at the world.” |
Disturbed’s first single from the ablum is “Stricken,” and the band is out supporting the album with a headlining tour. David Draiman and the boys headline the Jagermeister tour, which kicks off this November in Minneapolis, Minnesota. |
