DIR EN GREYS INWARD SCREAM TOUR HITS AMERICA

Japan’s own Dir En Grey are set to release ‘Marrow of the Bone’ and with their first headlining US Tour will look to take over America.

Dir En Grey, Japan’s biggest Metal export, are set to release ‘Marrow of the Bone’ February 20th, and the band looks to kick off their first ever US headlining Tour, The Inward Scream Tour with 14 American cities. ‘Marrow of the Bone’ is the much anticipated follow up to the band’s critically acclaimed ‘Withering to Death.’ After performing sold out shows in the US by word of mouth alone, without even having an album, the band has built a loyal fan base and didn’t disappoint performing last summer with Korn, The Deftones and Stone Sour on The Family Values Tour.

We caught up with Die and Kaoru of Dir En Grey, just before starting their Inward Scream Tour, to talk about what a great opportunity it was for the band to perform at Family Values and tour America with some of the best metal bands we have to offer.

“Those were great days because it was the very first time for us to experience that huge tour. Everything was huge on that tour. So, we had much inspiration and excitement from every single thing. We were very happy to have a chance to play with those great bands together and maybe, I’m not sure even in the future if we could have these types of great things. Even in the future, I’m wondering.”

So after turning heads on The Family Values Tour, Dir En Grey finally booked their first US Headlining Tour which hits sixteen citites in The US and Canada. We also talked with Die and Kaoru about the band’s thoughts on hitting the road as the headlining act.

“Yes we are very excited about it but at the same time, live shows are live shows anywhere anytime. It’s not that different when we play here or Japan or Europe or someplace else. We just want to concentrate and show ourselves on stage. But maybe accidents will happen during the tour, but it doesn’t mean something before it happens. But we’re really ready for the tour.”

Dir En Grey will hit the road on their Inward Scream Tour with Fair to Midland. The tour kicks off February 1st in Ft Lauderdale, Florida and extends until February 24th in Los Angeles, California.
