DIPLOMATS WIN BEST GROUP AT VIBE AWARDS

Harlem-based rap collective the Diplomats earned best group honors at this month’s Vibe Awards. The collective includes: Cam’ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones, Freekey Zeekey, Jha Jha, Hell Rell, and J. R. Writer. The group has released two albums so far including: 2003’s Diplomatic Immunity and 2004’s Diplomatic Immunity 2.

Jim Jones shared his thoughts on winning the best group award. He said,

“Shouts to the Vibe best group. I mean for me it’s an award man, it don’t make me or brake me, you know what I mean? They ain’t put a million dollars under that award, you dig? But I appreciate the gesture because we’ve been grinding so hard in the game so for people to finally notice our hard work and ethic and things like that, it’s no better gratification. So shouts to the Vibe, nothing but love, but you know we working, accolades or not we was gonna do this.”

The Diplomats’ Juelz Santana will release his sophomore album, What The Game’s Been Missing, on Tuesday, November 22nd.
