DIDDY REUPS WITH BLOCK ENTERPRISES
Sean “Diddy” Combs and Bad Boy Entertainment’s Bad Boy South label has renewed its agreement with Atlanta-based production company, Block Enterprises. Bad Boy and its parent company, Warner Music Group, will continue to market, promote and sell music by Block Enterprises artists. |
In a released statement, Diddy said, “The success of Boyz N Da Hood and Yung Joc proves that our instincts were right, and there is much more fantastic music in the pipeline from the Block/Bad Boy South team. I am thrilled that we have renewed our commitment to this great relationship.” |
“Through my homie Carl Mo, you know Grammy Award-winning producer who did the record, he did a lot of records, but I know one he’s really most credited for is the ‘I Like The Way You Move’ by Big Boi from OutKast. So he calls me and says, ‘Yo Block want to holler at you.’ Block calls me like, ‘Where can we meet?’ He ends up coming to the Royal Peacock, a very historic and monumental club in Atlanta on Auburn Avenue. He come out there and check me rock the crowd. Two days later we got a deal on the table. We do the deal, his attorney, my attorney, throw it back. Real quick simple, we do the deal. So he says, ‘Yo I got to give Bad Boy South the first right of refusal, that’s out of respect to Diddy.’ I said, ‘Let’s go.'” |

Some of the upcoming projects under the renewed deal will be sophomore albums by Boyz N Da Hood and Yung Joc and debut albums from Big Gee and Gorilla Zee. |
