DEPECHE MODE EXPLAINING THE ANGEL
Depeche Mode remains in the Top 50 on the Billboard 200 album chart with their album, Playing The Angel. The band has been performing sold-out shows during their tour, which kicked off earlier this month (November). |
The album also came with a DVD of their single, “Precious,” and Martin Gore and Andy Fletcher reflect on what the album title, Playing The Angel, means. |
[Gore]”That is a lyric from one of the songs called ‘Darkest Star,’ which sounds quite dark really, doesn’t it? I think it has meanings on various levels and that’s why we like it. We’ve always quite liked sort of a bit of ambiguity.” [Fletcher] “That means we can’t explain what it means” (laughs) |
Depeche Mode has been a band for about 25 years, and released their first album, Speak And Spell, in 1981. The band will be in the States on tour though December 11, winding down with the KROQ Acoustic Christmas in Los Angeles. |
