DENIS LEARY RESCUES LOUISIANA

Denis Leary, the star of Rescue Me who lost his firefighter cousin in the line of duty has been on a crusade to assist these selfless heroes who lay their lives on the line every day. However the buck doesn’t stop here as Denis is also reaching out to the fire houses devastated by Hurricane Katrina and he needs your help.

“They’re always kind of left to their own devices to take care of themselves which is what I say at my foundation events. If you give me the money I get it right to the firefighters and I put it in their hands. It’s like in New Orleans where nobody knows this but the fire department there lost 22 out of their 36 houses and all the equipment that was in there. They didn’t even have the rescue boats to go and rescue people with so I’m actually using money from my foundation to buy them rescue boats but Anderson Cooper and all these people that are going down to New Orleans and Oprah and Dr. Phil and talking about the tragedy down there, nobody’s talking about the firefighters. And they won’t talk about it themselves because they have too much pride but it’s a big issue. The fire department is decimated down there and unlike the police they didn’t walk away from the job and some of these guys are parked with their rigs in Wal Mart parking
