DEMI MOORE RAGES AS SERIAL KILLER DETECTIVE

Demi Moore stars in Mr. Brooks as a serial killer detective.

Demi Moore engages Kevin Costner in a game of cat and mouse in the thriller Mr. Brooks. She plays detective Tracy Atwood whose beat is catching killers and she does so by thinking just like them.

Demi describes how her character behaved so she could be one step ahead of Mr. Brooks’ next victim.

“To be a detective and someone who specializes in serial killing you have to get inside and try to think and move as the killer moved. And so there’s gotta be a place within that personality that definitely has got a little bit of a tweak to them. I just think their motivation is perhaps a little bit different.”

Demi says she was attracted to the role because it scared her and the thought of Kevin Costner as a serial killer really creeped her out.

“That she was dynamic, repulsive. She terrified me. She has a rage and anger that she dumps out on everyone else that I just couldn’t even imagine. I think the aspect that she is a hunter seeking her prey no differently than Mr. Brooks. And then I’d say it was imagining Kevin in this role was just absolutely creepy.”

Mr. Brooks is currently playing in theaters.
