DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE DISCUSSES REAL PLANS
Death Cab For Cutie has released their latest album, Plans, this fall, but they’ve already got the kind of loyal, grassroots following that most bands would kill for. The band formed in 1998 and have released four albums before the current offering. |
The band is currently promoting their album, and vocalist/songwriter Ben Gibbard talked about what lies ahead for the band. |
“Touring. Touring and talking to people on the phone about the record and talking about… to people about the record in person and taking photos for the record and then playing some more shows.” |
Death Cab For Cutie also talked about balancing old and new songs considering their extensive back cataog and the songs off Plans. |
“We only play the first record and b-sides. We stay away from the new stuff,… Nah, it’s a pretty even balance across the board I think.” |
After a strong start, Plans, has dropped out of the Top 50 albums. That won’t stop the band as they’ve got tour dates planned through November 19, and they’re hitting cities across the U.S. including Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. |
