DE LA SOUL RELEASES MIXTAPE

De La Soul recently released a new mixtape, The Impossible: Mission. The mixtape features a guest verse from up-and-coming rapper Butta Verses. The newcomer is signed to Maceo’s Bear Mountain label.

De La Soul released their last album, 2004’s The Grind Date, on Sanctuary Records after spending most of their career at Tommy Boy Recirds where they released seven albums. The group has left Sanctuary and is now looking for a new label to distribute their AOI Records.

“You know if it was all about chasing checks I know there’s so many other things that we can do. The music is important first. It shows how we do it. We put a record out every four years. We’re trying to make it right, each time around. So first thing off the plate is making sure the music is where it’s suppose to be. That’s the main love.”
