De La Soul performed with the Gorillaz during last month’s Grammy Awards during which they took home the Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals for their collabroation, “Feel Good Inc.” The Gorillaz are celebrating the Grammy win and the platinum success of their Demon Days album by performing a string of dates at New York’s Apollo Theather.

De La Soul, Booty Brown of the Pharcyde, Roots Manuva, Ike Turner, and Neneh Cherry are all scheduled to participate in the Demon Days Live concert series which will take place on April 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th at the Apollo Theater. The shows will include live performances as well as a theme park experience with the band onstage transmitted in 3D.

“You know and definitely for us we reaching a certain age in this game where we can’t tour forever. So we do when to play a part of trying to do our best to sell as many records as we can so we could touch the different facets of what the music has to offer other than just touring all the time.”

The Grammy win was a defining moment in De La Soul’s career. The group has primarily made a name for itself through it’s innovative music and outstanding stage show but group member Mase recently shared that the group would like definitely like some commercial success as they’re getting older.
