DAVID STRATHAIRN HUNTS FOR BOURNE

David Strathairn joins the Bourne team on the hunt for Jason Bourne.

David Strathairn becomes part of the Bourne team in The Bourne Ultimatum playing government agent Noah Vosen whose primary objective is to find Jason Bourne at all costs.

Playing newsman Edward R. Murrow in Good Night and Good Luck was a lot more familiar to David than playing a spy.

“No, I don’t think I could. I’m too inarticulate and people would know I was lying. I’d be no good at it. There are people who are a lot faster than I am. I might be able to work for them in the maintenance department. I don’t know.”

Straitharn leads a team of men, a black ops division whose job is to take down Jason Bourne by any means necessary.

“We’ll do what we have to do to get him, yeah. And the great thing about these films is that they are action sequences that are quite plausible. It’s not MI5 or Bond movies. These kind of car accidents can happen riding on Vespers and scooters. It’s all very possible stuff. That’s what makes it exciting too for an audience. They don’t have to go, ‘oh that’d never happen. He’d die if he did that.’ This is pretty real, pretty gritty.”

Most of the scenes between David and his nemesis Jason Bourne played by Matt Damon take place over the telephone. Next David will star in My Blueberry Nights as an alcoholic cop who falls for the pie loving Norah Jones making her film debut.
