Rapper and producuer David Banner hasn’t forgotten where he came from. The rapper is very active in his native Mississippi where he’s already put up $50,000 to fund scholarships for local students. Banenr is also a motivational speaker for students at Lanier High School where he teaches them that education was the key to his success. When the rapper performs in Mississippi, he often features neighborhood kids in his shows. |
After Hurricane Katrina, Banner created the “Heal the Hood” Foundation and organized concerts across the Gulf Coast and in New York City. The rapper even visited the Coliseum with a bus full of supplies for evacuees. |
