DAVID BANNER GIVES BACK TO MISSISSIPPI

Rapper and producuer David Banner hasn’t forgotten where he came from. The rapper is very active in his native Mississippi where he’s already put up $50,000 to fund scholarships for local students. Banenr is also a motivational speaker for students at Lanier High School where he teaches them that education was the key to his success. When the rapper performs in Mississippi, he often features neighborhood kids in his shows.

After Hurricane Katrina, Banner created the “Heal the Hood” Foundation and organized concerts across the Gulf Coast and in New York City. The rapper even visited the Coliseum with a bus full of supplies for evacuees.

“You know Snoop has been, honestly you know on the low Snoop has been one of the people that’s been helping me out personally in my career. So like anything that Snoop does really, you know I’m proud of. You know and the things that he does that’s positive it seems like the media doesn’t have a tendency to gravitate towards that you know? From the gaming league to what he doing for the kids from the hood, you know, it’s big with the football league, you know what I’m sayin’?”
