DANIEL RADCLIFFE FINDS TRUTH ABOUT FRIENDSHIP
Like his character Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe finds out what real friendship means. |
You’ve got to have friends couldn’t be a more fitting motto for the new Harry Potter film The Order of The Phoenix. It begins with the entire Hogwarts School branding Harry a liar and a traitor for using magic under the age of consent to slay Dementors. |
Daniel Radcliffe says he’s experienced being shunned out by the people who are closest to you. |
“Harry does a thing I think we all do in life which is you lash out at people you care about most and you love the most because ultimately you know that you’re gonna be fine. You lash out at the people you know you can lash out at because ultimately you’re gonna be great friends again. And I think everybody does that. Certainly I’ve done that and I think everybody has. Harry goes through all that and really shuns his friends in quite a selfish way because he wants to go it alone when actually as Ron says to him, he doesn’t have to do it all by himself. And I think that’s one of the lessons that Harry learns in this film.” |
Through the years Daniel says the Potter stars have remained close pals on and off the set and nobody gets preferential treatment. |
“I think we all have great relationships with each other and as we’re all growing we all sort of look to each other for the support on set and we’ll get it. I would never place myself on the top of any sort of hierarchy because that’s not how it works on the set. We’re all very much on one level but I certainly look up to Gary Oldman. It’s fantastic to work with him.” |
Gary Oldman reprises his role as Sirius Black. Also returning to the series is Ralph Fiennes as Lord Voldemort and Helena Bonham Carter plays a deranged escapee from Azkaban. |
