CURTIS JACKSON ENTERTAINS WITH WAR FILM

Curtis Jackson a.k.a. 50 Cent stars in Home of The Brave as Jamal, a soldier in Iraq who is deployed for one more mission to deliver medical supplies when the unit is ambushed. Returning home he must face the psychological and physical scars of his tour of duty.

Curtis says he was initially excited to play war games in the film, but then the desire became deeper than that.

“Well I actually enjoyed the action and excitement in a war film. It’s almost like anything can happen at any time. That’s what attracted me initially but the character has so much more depth to him. Having them come home and showing you how they’re affected by that experience that I was persistent about being part of the project.”

Curtis met soldiers in Iraq while touring Get Rich or Die Tryin’ where he entertained the troops. He says why he hopes his fans will see Home of The Brave.

“Well fans of my music should come see the film; number one because I’m in the film and number two it’s a great project for everyone. Outside of the people who enjoy my music or hip hop as a genre of music, it’s still great entertainment.”

Curtis hopes to entertain yet again in his next acting project Microwave Park where he’ll be playing a cop partnering up with Robert DeNiro. Home of The Brave opens Friday in theaters.
