CORNELL RELEASES SCREAM, DISCUSSES SONGWRITING WITH TIMBALAND
Chris Cornell has officially released his third solo album “Scream” and with Hip Hop Mega Producer Timbaland lending his talents to the project, it’s clearly evident this is a musical direction Chris Cornell has never taken before. With the success Cornell has experienced as a vocalist and songwriter with the likes of Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and Audioslave, he obviously has the luxury of stepping away from his comfort zone and trying something new at this stage in his career. |
Artisan News caught up with Chris Cornell to his thoughts on songwriting with Timbaland and responding creatively in the studio together. |
“I’ve done everything. Really that switch was sort of thrown before I went in but the main thing was I suppose it was the decision to either go in with a bunch of song ideas or go in and just work with Timbaland and make an album where we respond to each other creatively right on the spot. That decision was the one that I made. That’s sort of going in and saying ‘Let’s make this commitment to do this and make a whole album and make sure we do that and we have no idea what the outcome is going to be and we’re going to do it.’ And we did that.” |
Catch Chris Cornell performing “Scream” from his new album on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on March 20th. Chris recently announced more tour dates in support of “Scream” as the tour kicks off with North American dates beginning March 28th in Dallas, Tx and extending until May 3rd in Los Angeles, Ca. |
