COOK AND SIMPSON SHARE MOVIE MEMORIES
(VIDEO) Employee of the Month co-stars Dane Cook and Jessica Simpson share their memories of making the film together. |
Dane Cook plays a box boy slacker in Employee of the Month who tries to win the affection of Amy, the new cashier played by Jessica Simpson. Dane who is famous for his physical comedy says the one memory that stands out most for him happened off the set. |
The memory that Jessica will never forget were the shoots that went into the wee hours of the evening, but Dane devised a trick to stay awake. |
Dane: I really hurt myself. I had these little rolling heel shoes and one day I thought, ‘oh I’ll just roll to my trailer like an idiot and then I took a step forgetting I had wheels on and I did like a full split and basically I can’t do that nor should I be doing anything near that. Every ligament in my entire leg was like, ‘no’ and they all snapped. It was quite frustrating. Every scene that I had to run to on my crazy looking leg so that’s one of my largest memories from the movie is my leg.” |
Jessica enjoyed having a group of comedians around her and creating relationships on and off the screen. Dane made a discovery about Jessica after getting to know her both personally and professionally. |
Jessica: That was the roughest part were the night shoots in a Costco with the fluorescent lights. Then having to walk out and it be bright outside and you’re supposed to go to sleep. Dane: Sometimes I would just go down aisle 217 and drop a 400 pound bag of dog food on myself, just take a big bag of Yukanuba and just crush myself with it just to wake myself up so I could go back and sling some more freshly cooked ha ha.” |
“She kind of likes to play with the blonde thing a bit but she’s pretty sharp and she knows what the deal is. Not that I thought she was stupid before but I didn’t know she was a little aloof which still would’ve been adorable. But this girl right here, she’s wicked. She’s on point. Jessica: Thanks Dane. Dane: You’re welcome Jessica Simpson.” |
