CONFETTI RIPS INTO WEDDINGS

(VIDEO) British mockumentary Confetti makes fun of the reality show on the big screen with a wedding competition.

From the U.K. comes the completely improvised mockumentary Confetti taking the reality show to the big screen about three couples who will do whatever outrageous stunt they can to win the coveted Confetti magazine prize of Most Original Wedding of Year. Jessica Stevenson and Martin Freeman who play Matt and Sam talk about their winning strategy.

Stephan Mangan and Meredith Macneill are affianced couple Josef and Isabelle who plan a sporty wedding.

“Our characters have been together about seven years and now we’ve decided to take the plunge. We’ve entered the competition to have an imaginative wedding with the theme of Hollywood musicals.”

Jimmy Carr who will next be seen in Stormbreaker plays Antoni the owner of the magazine Confetti who came up with the inception of having a wedding competition. In real life Jimmy talks about what he really thinks of the extravagant ceremony.

“Short listed for the finals, the wedding magazine finals, the fashionable tennis players. They’re very much in love, no mates, no family, alone essentially in the film planning their wedding.”

Confetti opens tomorrow in theaters. rn

“I’ve always thought weddings were faintly silly. It’s people spending a vast amount of money on showing off but that’s a lack of romance to me. I don’t know maybe they’re sweet. I always really enjoyed going to weddings. I always have a brilliant time. I think you have to have a part of your soul missing watching two people you really like stand up and proclaim their love in front of other people but I can’t see why that can’t be done in the pub.”
