COMMON UP FOR SEXIEST VEGETARIAN

Common is up for sexiest vegetarian of the year but the competition is stiff….

Rapper Common is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Andre 3000 and Prince by snagging the world’s sexist vegetarian title. The rapper has some stiff competiton this year in the annual poll which is sponsored by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). He’s up against Persia White, Masta Killa, the GZA, KRS-One, Murphy Lee, Mos Def, Prodigy, RZA, Black Thought, Q-Tip, Forest Whitaker and Ruben Studdard. The winner will be announced at the end of June.

In related news, Common will release his new album, Finding Forever, on July 31st. The set features collaborations with D’Angelo, Kanye West, the late J Dilla, Will.I.Am, Bilal, Dwele, and UK pop singer Lily Allen. The first single from the project is “The People,” which was produced by Kanye West.

“It’s like people they no interested in hip hop anymore to be honest like, I mean people do it probably because you know they make a living doing it, meaning like people surrounding the business. I know people that work at radio stations, they don’t want hear….think they go home and listen to rap? Think they excited about the next record they about to play? No. So I mean that’s just what it is. They be looking like it’s bringing their spirit down. That stuff, it don’t be good for your spirit to hear like negative stuff all day. It ain’t negative cause it’s talking about drugs. But it’s negative because it’s gotta a negative tone and energy to it you know what I mean?”
