COMMON ALBUM LEAKED ON INTERNET

Common’s new album, Finding Forever, leaked on the internet….

Common’s new album, Finding Forever, is due in stores until July 31st but the project was recently leaked on line. The album features collaborations with Kanye West, who produced the latest single, “The People,” Lily Allen, Bilal, D’Angelo, Will.I.Am, and the late J Dilla.

Common is signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label and the two work together a lot in the studio. Common shared that many of the beats that West has used for producing songs for others, he rejected. The rapper said,

“I don’t second guess myself when it comes to that. It’s funny Kanye was in the studio telling some people last night, he was like, ‘Man half the beats that went out this year that I did for other people I made for Common first.’ I was like yeah I guess that might be true. But at the end of the day it’s about contributing to the music for me like I choose the music that I feel is inspiring to me. It’s going allow me to make a good song. A song that I’mma feel great about. Not cause Kanye feels great about it or my manager feels great about it. I mean of course I want them to feel good about it but I got to first feel good cause the song represents me. It has Common’s name on it. You know it’s my music, my art. It’s an extension of me so.”

In related news, Common is one of the stars of the new movie, American Gangster, which hits theaters on November 2nd. The film stars Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, T.I., RZA, and others. The flick is based on the true story of 1970’s drug kingpin Frank Lucas (played by Washington) who brought heroin into Harlem by sneaking it into the coffins of American soldiers coming home from Vietnam.
