COLBIE CAILLAT REALIZES NYC VIDEO AND HARD WORK
Up and coming soft rock sensation Colbie Caillat ‘Realize’d some things during her video shoot — long taping hours and a gold record! |
Up-and-coming pop/rock sensation Colbie Caillat filmed a video for her forthcoming single, “Realize,” in New York City this past weekend. Caillat filmed the clip in New Jersey and the streets of New York City, and she’s hoping both the song and the clip are as popular as her breakthrough single, “Bubbly.” |
Caillat talked about the shoot. |
“I think getting up so early in the morning is the biggest challenge for shooting a music video because we got up at like 3:30 in the morning and had to drive an hour-and-a-half, and then we had to start doing hair and make-up. The whole day goes to like, 7pm. So, the long hours is difficult. This music video the experience is definitely a little smoother. The last one was the first video I’ve ever done, it was for ‘Bubbly.’ It wasn’t bad. It wasn’t hard. It was in Malibu, California and it was a beautiful sunny day. I don’t know. It just seems like we know what we’re doing more, and everything is just going really fast and smooth and only a few takes for each scene, so it’s good.” |
Colbie’s new album, Coco – titled after a nickname she was given as a kid – has sold over 500,000 copies, good enough to be certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. She talked about the feat. |
“My album going gold, when I got the email I was so excited. I just can’t wait for the plaque because my dad has a bunch of records. He has gold and platinum records and we have them hanging up in our house and our grandparents house, so now to have my own and I get to put it up there next to his that’s… I’m so excited.” |
Caillat’s father was a co-producer in the ’70s working on such legendary albums as Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours. Her success actually started with the internet as she had been the Number One artist on Myspace for some time, and her works, both the single and album, have been toppers at iTunes. |
