COHEED GOES GOLD, DVD VIGNETTES A BONUS
Coheed And Cambria’s new album Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume 1: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness has been attracting quite an interest as the band’s previous album and DVD have both gone gold as certified by the Recording Industry Association of America. With that success the band is rereleasing their latest collection as a DualDisc on December 13 featuring expanded content. |
One of the more unique pieces to the DVD portion is the inclusion of animated vignettes of some of the songs done by lead vocalist/guitarist Claudio Sanchez. Drummer Josh Eppard said he’s a fan. |
“A lot of people I know and fans I’ve met along the way strictly like the music, but a lot people want to go deeper. Obviously with the comic books and the graphic novels, and the vignettes… I don’t know who originally had the idea. I don’t know if it was anyone in the band. Claudio had put them together with someone, like the animation, it’s actually artwork from the comic book, and in the backdrop was the new music from the record for the people, if there were any, that were excited to hear even just a tidbit of the new music. It seemed like a great idea and that it was a good way that everything could go hand in hand, the visual aspect and the music. I think they came out pretty cool.” |
Coheed And Cambria’s 2003 breakthrough album, In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3, and their 2005 DVD Live at the Starland Ballroom have both been certified gold by the RIAA. |
The band performs in Hawaii on November 23, and then it’s off to play a few radio shows and a few one-off shows in Europe. |
