COBRA STARSHIP FLYING HIGH WITH SELL OUTS

Cobra Starship has sold out their recent tour, and the next big venue to see them will be Warped Tour.

Cobra Starship is flying high after all fifty dates of their just finished U.S. tour were sell outs. In Boston and New York the band had to book encore shows due to the demand for tickets. Cobra Starship’s next voyage will be on the Warped Tour this summer.

The band has updated its female and male appeal with keyboardist Victoria Asher, who actually plays the keytar (an instrument half guitar and half keyboards). We asked Cobra Starship how they found their prettiest member.

[Ryland] “I want to say an adamant, ‘no,’ but I don’t want it to sound like it’s just ‘No!’ like it’s (because she’s unattractive).’ We would never. We know we are really lucky to have Vicky in our band. We get to watch all these other guys fall for her all the time, but for us it’s more like she’s like our sister.'” [Gabe] “We’re like, ‘What are they thinking?!’ Nah..” (laughs) We look at her like a sister. One of my favorite bands growing up, Superchunk, they had a female bass player, and I ended up having a chance to meet them, and the dude told me that at one point every single guy in the band had a relationship with the girl, and I’m like, ‘Whoa, that’s weird.'”

So will the band members be falling all over themselves to get with the hot Asher?

[Gabe] “We lurked her on Myspace. I did a search on Myspace for female keyboard in Brooklyn or Manhattan. I did both. She popped up.” [Ryland] “The first five that came up were her.” [Gabe] “I was flipping through pages and Alex Suarez was like, ‘Oh, s–t. I know her!,’ and I’m like, ‘Oh, s–t, let’s call her. She looks perfect.'” [Ryland] “‘Oh, s–t. OK,’ and she was like, ‘Oh, s–t, I’m in the band.'[Gabe] “It was kind of like that.”

Cobra Starship is set to play Late Night With Conan O’Brien on April 3. Viva La Cobra is actually the band’s second album. It follows in the footsteps of 2006’s While The City Sleeps We Rule The Streets.
