COACHELLA MOVIE OPENS NATIONWIDE
The Coachella movie premiered last week in Los Angeles and this week the movie makes its way to movie theaters across the country. The flick features performances, behind the scenes footage, and happenings from the last six years of the festival. |
Drum and bass extraordinaire Roni Size talked about his festival experience. |
“I came to Coachella. I think it was the second time they had the event and I came here and I performed with my band Reprazent. It was great to bring drum and bass to a mass audience in America. Coachella was the perfect platform. and just to be able to look at and see that people were understanding what we were doing was very interesting. Yeah, it was good to come to Coachella. I enjoyed it.” |
One of the more memorable experiences at Coachella over the years was DJ Z-Trip, known for his friendship with Linkin Park, performing with Beck. Z-Trip talked with us about the experience. |
“I met him like an hour or two before we went on and we were trying to figure out some sort of… He was doing a little unannounced acoustic thing, so we were trying to think of a good segue to go between and he and I. And I thought “Two Turntables And A Microphone” makes the most sense. So, literally backstage we were like, “Let’s do, like, verse, chorus, verse and then chorus, eight bars, four bars, cool.’ We just sort of winged the whole thing and it worked out really well. Halfway through I was like…You always have that feeling like this could go totally, horribly wrong, but it all worked out.” |
