CLINT LOWERY TO JOIN SEVENDUST FOR APRIL 9 SHOW
Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery has rejoined the band, and he’ll spring back into action April 9, their tour kick-off. |
Guitarist Clint Lowery has returned to Sevendust it was announced earlier this month, and apparently the two sides have buried the proverbial hatchet. While the decision comes too late for the April 1st release of Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow, Lowery will start playing with the band immediately and be ready for their April 9 tour kick-off in Port St. Lucie, Florida. |
Although Lajon Witherspoon and drummer Morgan Rose might have felt differently at the time of Clint’s departure, Lowery, who left in 2003 to form Dark New Day with his brother Corey, never lost sight of the love he had for his Sevendust brethren. |
“I love those guys. I want the best for them, and I love the Sevendust fans, but this is something I just had to do. I’m having fun, and that’s what this is about. I didn’t think about the commercial aspect of it all. The Sevendust thing, that was the most…out of all the things we heard, we heard that the most. ‘You guys should have done this and that.’ A lot of the stuff we did accomplish I was very proud of. There were a lot of frustrations within the band, but it hd nothing to do with… I wasn’t searching for a more commercial or accessible kind of thing, I was just searching for something that made me happy.” |
Lowery had also been employed by Korn and toured with them on the latest incarnation of the band. As for the departed Sonny Mayo, the band holds no animosity (no pun intended), and the big rumor yet to be confirmed is there may be a reunion of his most notable project, Snot, in the works. Stay tuned. |
