CLAIRE DANES SHINES IN STARRY ROLE

Claire Danes plays a fallen star in the magical film Stardust.

Claire Danes shines in Stardust, the epic fairytale about a young man Charlie Cox who promises to deliver a star to win the affections of the town beauty played by Sienna Miller.

Playing the role of a star Yvaine who crashes to earth and illuminates all that are deserving of her light was very challenging for Claire.

“And I thought my character was so dreamy. She’s a riot. It’s just totally bizarre to have to render a star but it was definitely a worthy challenge. She’s been hurled out of the sky, her home and has crashed very painfully onto the surface of our earth and is almost immediately kidnapped by some silly kid who she has no patience for.”

Meanwhile the old and ugly witches of the neighboring magical land led by Michelle Pfeiffer want to kill the star so they can get their physical beauty back once again.

“I’m pretty popular. Everybody wants to kill me. Yeah, it’s true. Of course the heart of a star, I don’t know if you know this but the heart of the star is very valuable because it can provide everlasting youth.”

Stardust directed by Matthew Vaughn boasts an impressive British cast including Rupert Everett, Peter O’Toole and Ricky Gervais. Watch for a cross-dressing pirate played by Robert DeNiro.
