CHRONICITIS A BALL OF MADNESS FOR SLIGHTLY STOOPID
California’s own Slightly Stoopid talk about having a good time in the studio on their latest release ‘Chronicitis’ |
California’s own Slightly Stoopid have announced another round of touring in support of their latest release ‘Chronicitis.’ The album, which is their fifth studio album and entered the U.S. Billboard 200 Chart at #55, captures Slightly Stoopid in the studio just having fun with their boys and features guest appearances from G Love, Money Mark and Angelo of Fishbone. |
We caught up with Kyle and Miles of Slightly Stoopid to get their thoughts on ‘Chronicitis’ being a ball of madness for the band. |
“It was just fun to make. Good times! Yeah, I mean we got to work with, we don’t really have obstacles in the studio, you just get to roll with your boys and have some good times. We had Mario C, Miguel, Paul Leary and Chris D, so we got to work with four really dope cats. We had like G Love and Angelo and DJ Hellna and Guru on the record, so it was pretty much like a ball of madness.” |
We also spoke to Slightly Stoopid about their relationship with G Love, which has been on going over many years, many tours and many different studio projects. |
“Well we’ve worked with G Love for years. We’ve been touring with him for years and we’ve worked on records together so we’re all boys pretty much. So whenever we get a chance to work together, both of us jump at the opportunity.” |
Slightly Stoopid also admitted they left off their heavier songs on ‘Chronicitis’ and they talked about their possible future plans of putting together a punk rock EP. |
“We were talking about doing some sort of punk rock EP or something like that, you know what I mean. We didn’t really put any heavy stuff on this record and I think something for the fans would be cool to do like punk rock stuff and maybe some dubs on the record. I think that’d be fun.” |
Slightly Stoopid recently performed at The Belly Up in North San Diego County at the end of December and all the proceeds from the show were donated to the San Diego Fire victims through Operation USA. The band have also announced they will be hitting the road in February for their own Stoopid Records Party 2008! The tour will be hitting 17 cities across the nation starting on Feb 14 in San Francisco, CA and extends until March 8th in Towson, Maryland. Slightly Stoopid will be bringing their good friends and Stoopid Records recording artists The Expendables and Outlaw Nation. |
