Christopher Walken stars in Man of the Year as the manager of political talk show host Robin Williams who is suddenly thrust into campaigning for his client when an on-air stunt to run for office takes a serious turn. |
Walken weighs in on a politician he could engage in conversation with that wouldn’t just be saying his lines.rn |
“I play Tom Dobbs’ manager so I’m obviously somebody very familiar with, acquainted with, comfortable in show business which I’ve been in show business my whole life. A feeling about comedy, that comedy is a very good business. I felt I had those things in common with Menken.” |
Next Walken plays a different kind of agent, one that works for the CIA in Fade To Black.rn |
“I’m never sure when I listen to politicians on television I’m never sure what’s their idea or what’s somebody else’s. But there are obviously people who are very good at it. When I listen to Bill Clinton I end up feeling he’s probably very interesting to talk to when there’s no script. There are people where you suspect don’t really need a script. I think if Robin was a politician he wouldn’t really need a writer.” |
