CHILI PEPPERS KIEDIS LOOKING TO METALLICA SILVERLAKE GIG
Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis wishes he had new music for the fans and tour dates scheduled, but he’s looking forward to Metallica. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers might make an appearance at the Silverlake Conservatory School Of Music show on Wednesday, May 14, which features Metallica and Scars On Broadway. Flea is on the board of directors for the school, which seeks to give musically gifted students a chance to learn and pursue music in the wake of vanishing school music programs. The benefit’s proceeds go to the school, and it takes place at the famous Wiltern Theater. |
Anthony Kiedis was asked if the Chili Peppers would play the benefit and if they had any new music to showcase. |
“I wish, but no. We’re on such a hiatus right now. We’re just living and learning and reinventing and going back to the drawing board at some unkown date in the future. But that Metallica show is going to be fun.” |
If the Peppers don’t play, they’ll at least be in attendance to support the cause. At press time there were tickets still available. General admission tickets are $200. Fans who have the extra cash can buy a $500 VIP ticket, which also includes a gift bag and a meet and greet at the aftershow party. |
