CHEVELLE AVOIDS WORK FOR CHRISTMAS

Chevelle is home for Christmas, and the band is trying to distance themselves from the stigma of being labeled a Christian band early in their careers.

The Loeffler Brothers Sam and Pete said that they tried to keep a low profile, especially on Christmas, but they do acknowledge that it’s a great time for family.

(Sam) “You know what? We’ve never… I don’t know we’ve always been so dedicated to just being a rock band that if somebody would jokingly say, ‘Hey you want to play a Christmas thing or something?,” we’d always be like, ‘eh, no we’re just a rock band'” (Pete) “Yeah I don’t know.” (Sam) But the holidays are cool for us. Like everybody needs to be able to go and spend time with their family.” (Pete) “Yeah, that is important.”

The band released their new album, This Type Of Thinking (Could Do Us In) in 2004, and its success has been fueled by the single “Vitamin R (Leading Us Along).”
