CASEY AFFLECK COLLABORATES WITH BROTHER BEN
Casey Affleck is directed by his brother for the first time in Gone, Baby Gone. |
The Affleck brothers Casey and Ben team up for Gone, Baby Gone, with Ben behind the camera. Casey stars as a private detective who is investigating a case involving the abduction of a young girl. |
On the set, Casey weighs in on Ben’s first time and what it was like to take direction from his older brother. |
“I’ve been surprised and very proud of Ben because I’d never seen him as a director and he’d never worked on anything, never directed anything else and he’s done an incredible job just in every way. The movie looks great from what I’ve seen and he’s kind of created an atmosphere that’s very collaborative and fun and yet professional. I think he’s learned the respect of everybody on the crew and people really like him a lot. The studio seems so far to be very happy with what he’s done and all the actors really like the direction he’s given them and they really respond to him.” |
The film also had a familiar feel to Casey as it was shot entirely on location in their hometown of Boston, Massachusetts. |
“There’s a huge advantage to playing a role in a place that you’re from and around people you grew up with. Even things that seem insignificant but just being familiar with the surroundings. You’re shooting on a street and anywhere you look you kind of know what neighborhood you’re in, you know the kind of people who live there, you know who’s behind those houses.” |
Gone, Baby Gone which also stars Morgan Freeman, Michelle Monaghan and Ed Harris is currently playing in theaters. |
