CARS RIDES ONTO WIDESCREEN DVD

The hit animated feature Cars which stars Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen the red hot rod who stalls out in Radiator City on his way to the big race rides onto Widescreen DVD November 7.

The Cars DVD features an all new animated short featuring Mater in his own starring vehicle Mater and The Ghostlight . Larry, The Cable Guy who is the voice of the lovable buck teethed tow truck convinced director John Lasseter to let him bring his own style into the character.

“I play the character of Lightning McQueen and obviously it’s a world of cars. And Lightning is this kind of like Maverick in Top Gun. Like somebody who just wants to go fast and win. Over the course of this movie he has to learn there’s more important things.”

Extras on the Cars DVD also include the Oscar nominated short One Man Band, deleted scenes and writer/director John Lasseter’s inspiration for the film.

“I would stay with the script then after about a minute and a half, two minutes in I did a couple of lines and I’m like, ‘can I say this a different way? Because it doesn’t feel comfortable the way they have this written. I know this is your character. Whatever you want to do, you stay with whatever he’s talking about but we want to make it yours. It’s you so you do it however you want to do it. As soon as he said that I was a lot more comfortable. He’s real good to work with.”
