CAMRON REFUSES TO HELP INVESTIGATORS
The Diplomats leader Camron is sticking by the street mantra of not snitching and has refused to cooperate with the police investigation into who attempted to carjack him last month in Washington, DC. Cam’ron’s protege Juelz Santana told Washington Post, “Cam isn’t going to do it. It’s not in our nature. He isn’t going to stand up and point out a guy in a witness line and say, ‘That is the dude who shot me.’ We all came from the street.” |
D.C. Police Chief Charles H. Ramsey isn’t pleased with Cam’ron’s unwillingness to cooperate. He said, “We need the cooperation of witnesses and victims. I can’t relate to that mentality. I can’t comment on that thought process. I don’t think much of it. I don’t see the logic at all.” |
If Cam’ron isn’t willing to cooperate D.C. authorities are considering subpoenaing the rapper, who is serving five years probation for a gun conviction, to appear before a grand jury. |
Two unidentified men tried to carjack Camron last month as he sat in 2006 Lamborghini at the intersection of New York and New Jersey Avenues. An unidentified man jumped out of a burgundy Ford Expedition and attempted to pull open the rapper’s door while waving a gun. The assailant fired several shots at Cam’ron and at the pink Range Rover which was behind him carrying his entourage. |
Cam’ron was shot twice in the right arm and once in the left arm but was released from the hospital shortly after the incident. He will need surgery to repair nerve damage in the coming months. |
