CAMERON DIAZ TAKES A HOLIDAY FROM MEN

Cameron Diaz escapes her cheating boyfriend during Christmas in The Holiday.

Not every Christmas can be merry in New York which Cameron Diaz’ character comes to discover in The Holiday.

When her boyfriend played by Edward Burns turns out to be a player she decides to take a holiday from men and heads off to jolly old England, exchanging homes with Kate Winslet’s character who is also heart broken. Cameron says her character has universal love problems.

“Amanda is like all women wondering how she’s gonna make it through this relationship thing. This thing called love. She’s having problems with her current relationship. The guy that she’s living with, they’re not suited for one another whatsoever.”

The guy she lives with in the film is played by Ed Burns. Cameron says it was great fun breaking up with him.

“Eddie Burns, fantastic. Love Eddie Burns. Couldn’t of had more fun playing a break-up with him. He’s perfectly dry and dead pan for that part. It was great. It was so much fun. I didn’t want it to end honestly.”

Cameron’s London romance with Jude Law shows a bit more promise in The Holiday opening Friday in theaters.
