Rapper and actor Busta Rhymes left Clive Davis’ J Records to resurrect his career after his last album, 2002’s It Ain’t Safe No More, debuted at Number 43 on the Billboard 200 albums chart after selling a disappointing 62,000 copies its first week. The rapper decided to join the roster of Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Records, and the move has paid off big time. Busta’s latest album, The Big Bang, entered the Billboard 200 at Number One after selling 209,000 copies its first week in stores. The album fell just short of the rapper’s best first week ever. His 1998 set, E.L.E.: Extinction Level Event, sold over 212,000 copies its first week. |
