Bullet for My Valentine have released their sophomore album “Scream Aim Fire” and the band has landed a #4 debut in the U.S. and a #1 chart position in Japan as well as world wide critical acclaim and commercial succeses. “Scream Aim Fire,” which is the bands follow up to 2005’s release “The Poison” features the band getting more aggressive as they mature into songwriters and signals Metal bands can have chart success. |
We caught up with Matt Tuck and Jason James from Bullet for My Valentine just before heading out on the road in support of the new album, to get their thoughts on their amazing chart position debut. |
“It’s proof a metal band can have chart success you know. We haven’t toned anything down, if anything this album’s heavier than the first one. It’s not like anyone has been chanting ‘Sell out!’ You know. We’ve just done what we’ve done and the album’s a very aggressive album and it’s charting #4 and #1 in Japan and top 5 world wide so it’s amazing.” |
So do they think their success is a signal to the music industry that Metal bands can have chart success? |

Bullet for My Valentine have started the Taste of Chaos tour with Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, Blessthefall and Idiot Pilot. North American Tour Dates will extend until April 15th in Seattle, Washington. After finishing up Taste of Chaos look for Bullet for My Valentine to take a week or two off before touring Australia, Japan, Ireland, Finland and Norway. Look for the band to continue heavy touring in support of ‘Scream Aim Fire’ well into 2009 as well. |
