BUCKCHERRY NOT SORRY FOR HIT
Buckcherry has entered the Top 6 songs in the land for “Sorry” off their album 15, and it comes at the tail end of their hard work in support. |
Buckcherry has wound up strong on the tail of their album tour cycle for their latest record 18. Their latest single, “Sorry,” has crossed over to Top 40 chart, and they’ve reached Number six on the chart. The single caps off what was one of the hardest campaigns by a band, starting off with the viral Crazy Bitch, originally released on an independent album. |
After some success as an indie band, their relentless touring and catchy rock sound caught Atlantic Records attention, which helped the band achieve their goal of making the album 18 platinum. So how does the band feel about the success of the single on top of selling one million records before “Sorry” went pop? |
[Jossh Todd] “You know, we’re just happy. We’ve worked really hard and it’s paying off and we’re grateful. We’re just going to keep on working and doing what we do best — Rocking the free world and the nations around the free world.” [Keith Nelson] “It was just a matter of time before it caught on. I think the five of us knew what was going on and it was a matter just waiting for everyone else to catch up, really.” |
A tired and slightly annoyed Buckcherry talked about crossing over to other formats of music. |
[Todd] “It certainly does. As you know ‘Sorry’ is a big hit right now. OK? On Hot AC and it’s going to Top 40. It feels fantastic. And you Keith?” [Nelson] “I’ve never cross-dressed in my life.” |
Buckcherry were welcomed at the Grammy Style Studio despite not being nominated for an award. Aside from a platinum album, they’ve also scored platinum with both the ringtone and the digital single for the dirty-rock anthem, “Crazy Bitch.” |
