BUCKCHERRY HITS CRAZY BITCH
Buckcherry has defied the odds after being left for dead, but there are some who want a piece of their success. Buckcherry signed to Atlantic earlier this ye… |
Buckcherry’s lastest CD, 15, is titled after the time in days it took the band to make the collection. The band is currently on an unrelenting tour of the U.S. promoting the album, and their unsuspecting hit single, “Crazy Bitch.” |
The expletive-filled tune was an unlikely choice for a single, but when kids and fans started gravitating towards it on internet radio and iTunes, the band readied a version for terrestrial radio. Guitarist and co-producer Keith Nelson talked about how the song took on a life of its own. |
“I think we knew that it was a special tune in that it was the only song that Josh and I had written before we took our break. So it was really the only song that had hung around. Actually our manager, Katie McNeil, had been playing the demo. She had a copy of our demo and she basically wouldn’t let the song go. So we thought when we went in to make the record, ‘Well what the heck. Let’s go in and record a version of it and see what happens,’ but we had no expectations about it to be the first single. It was only after people…radio stations started taking it off the web and playing it and it became the number one most requested song on satellite radio for a while on the rock stations, so that’s when we knew we had to service free FM with a version of it as well, and the rest is history I guess.” |
An edited version of Buckcherry’s “Crazy Bitch” is at Number six on the Active Rock radio chart and has entered in at Number 47 on the Alternative radio chart. The band has dates scheduled through June 7 in Canada. |
