BUCKCHERRY GLAD TO BE BLACK BUTTERFLY
Buckcherry are set to release their latest album ‘Black Butterfly’ and they talk about benefiting from being the black sheep of Rock n Roll. |
Buckcherry are set to release their highly anticipated follow up to 2006’s “15” which was certified platinum and was nominated for a Grammy while spawning the hits “Crazy Bitch” and “Sorry.” After going on a hiatus in 2002 while lead vocalist and guitarist took some time away to regroup, they came back with a vengeance with “15” and now the band looks to build off their amazing momentum. |
We caught up with Todd and Nelson to get their thoughts on approaching “Black Butterfly” with an us against the world perspective and why they are continuing to benefit from being the black sheep of Rock N Roll. |
“(Todd) It’s always been that with Buckcherry. We’ve been the black sheep of Rock n Roll for so long now. We always have that mentality in our approach of everything. In our live shows, everything, making the record doing press, all of that.” “(Nelson) I don’t think we’ve ever really truely been embraced by a lot of our peers, you know and a lot of the mainstream media outlets, magazines and television shows. They just decided that we don’t exist and that’s fine. It doesn’t change what we want to do and it doesn’t change what we’re doing. It actually just fuels us to stay on and prove them all wrong. So, in a way being the black sheep is working to our advantage because it really does inspire us to stay at it and work harder.” |
“Black Butterfly” is scheduled to be released September 16th and the band will start their tour in support of the new album September 13th in Indiana and the tour extends until October 26th in Japan. The tour was initially scheduled to include Avenged Sevenfold, but due to Matt Shadows undisclosed vocal condition, they will no longer be a part of Buckcherry’s headlining tour. |
